Made in Canada by Climbers

Sole Spray was made to solve a real problem in our households–the problem of stinky climbing shoes. We developed an all-natural, easy-to-use spray that tackled the smell and became a staple in our climbing bags.

While Sole Spray was developed for climbing, its multipurpose formula ensures it is equally effective for all sports shoes or equipment.

Sole Spray was founded in Canmore, a town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, by climbers Cam Baty and Sonnie Trotter.

  • SONNIE TROTTER

Living in his van for 15 years, sonnie knew the ins and outs ot what it meant to be a dirtbag. Sonnie began climbing in 1997 at the age of 16, and became the first Canadian to climb a 5.14c. He is the third North American to make the first free ascent of a 5.14d (9a) graded route. In later years. Sonnie became known for his traditional climbing routes, and his first free ascent of the Cobra Crack in Squamish, British Columbia

During many years of exploring the outdoors, Sonnie and his wife have, time and time again, encountered the problem of keeping their shoes fresh. Sole Spray was born from a personal desire to play hard in the vertical world while staying fresh, on and off the rocks.

Sonnie lives in Canmore, Alberta with his wife, Lydia, and his children, Mesa & Tate.

  • CAM BATY

Once a classic city boy from Manitoba, Cam fell in love with the Canadian Rockies, enjoying the limitless opportunities for skiing, climbing, and more.

In 2021, after working with Sonnie on opening Canmore Climbing Gym, Cam was also developing a deodorizing spray for his own climbing shoes. With all 5 members of the family being active climbers & outdoors people, stinky shoes were always a problem in their household.

Sharing the same philosophies of doing good for the world, giving back to their communities, and sharing a love for climbing, Cam partnered with Sonnie to launch Sole Spray in 2024.

Cam live in Canmore, Alberta with his children Ruby, Lane and Henry and his wife Karina (with whom he co-owns Rocky Mountain Soap Co).
